Next up: Duplex ?OB Snare

This is the snare dad used in high school. He is now 84 so pretty sure it is vintage :-)

Some case rash on the lugs. Couple of tiny dings, no deep scratches.

The shell and lugs look to be NOB. Rims NOS.

Just going to tumble the tension rods,screws/washers. Rest is a polish only.

Short 1 original rim clip and 3 tension rods. Any thoughts welcome.

If someone can ID the stand that would be great.

Thanks for all the help!!!

What are the marks on the side of the throw? Looks like a branding of some sort.

Sorry misread, side of the throw is marked "DUPLEX MFGCO" "STLOUIS"

Apologies,

Crazy that your dad played this snare back in the day! Can't wait to see the progress. Thanks for sharing.

Very cool you still have the snare too. It's a real beauty. Does Dad still play? He might want to grab some sticks and brushes after he sees it polished up again. I love hearing stories like this. I think a picture with Dad and the snare would be cool to see.

Thanks!

Dad hasn't played for years. Pretty bad arthritis now. I am going to see them this summer and will take it and get a picture.

Need to work on the rims and shell a bit more. Coming along nicely.

on first glance it looks like one of their "airplane metal" snares.

Probably Aluminum.

Nice snare.

Clapping Happy2 Looking good! Really nice job. I like the clear batter head too. Really shows off the drum.
