This will be my next major drum project. Orphaned pieces, stripped and refinished (tentatively) with a Pink Champagne Sparkle wrap. Included are 8X12 and 9x13 Ludwig toms (which have been previously stripped and (horribly) rewrapped in gloss black. (You can see that whomever did that damaged the shells when removing the original wrap, so I will have to touch them up with wood filler before rewrapping them again.) Then, there is the 1960 12x15 Ludwig Parade snare, which will be converted to a floor tom, after some minor repairs. Finally, there is a Pearl Export (Taiwan) 16x18 floor tom, which was previously converted to a kick drum. It functions very well in this capacity. I have preferred it for home recording projects. It will remain a kick drum in this set, though probably with replacement hardware that matches the other drums, and possibly with wood hoops (if I can find them). All three of the toms appear to be 3-ply Mahogany/Poplar/Mahogany, so the sound should be consistent. Any advice or tips are welcomed and appreciated.
