Newbie e bay

I'm thinking about trying to sell some gear on e bay, however I have only bought a few items, have 8 stars, I wondered how to get started, I would assume most buyers would be skeptical doing biz with a new seller, any advice? maybe I'm better off having a solid seller post my stuff and pay them a fee.

As long as you present a Professional auction, good photos, well written correctly spelled copy, and a return guarantee mighty help you out at first! I've bought from low number sellers in the past all turned out good! you gotta start somewhere!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I agree with VM2000 and would add that you need to be very specific in your description, but don't say any more than necessary to be accurate. At first I had a tendency to tell the "life story" of something I was selling...that only causes unnecessay questions and concerns. Also, include good, well lighted pictures showing the complete item and any relevent condition details. I've seen many people trying to sell a snare drum where they included only a picture taken from straight over the drum..."Gee, it's round and has a batter head, that's nice, but what does the shell look like?" Buyers are interested in the hardware on a drum, the lugs, the throw-off, etc.

I have never offered a return/refund, even on used computer components, and so state very clearly in my ads. I guess it depends on the value and condition of what you are selling and your confidence in the description you provided. You also need to think about whether or not you will ship international...I don't.

Actually, I've been very pleased with the ebay process and the outcome of my sales. I had one "upset" buyer that gave me a negative rating (after having the items for more than a month), but my description and pictures were absolutely accurate so there was no more I could have done. They saw exactly what they were buying and received exactly what they saw.

Good luck.
