new K Istanbuls

Loading...

Been watching these cymbals for a while; originally listed at $1600 and $1200; i was able to get both for $1900. Very excited to have a full set of K Istanbuls now. I play a variety of styles so the fact that these are a bit brighter and modern sounding is a plus to me

Those are both choice weights. And the weight of that 18" new stamp is especially rare to find.

Big fan of the later "old" Ks as well, good job!

Never play it the same way once.

Funny story: i asked Rupps to contact the seller and see if they could provide any history for these cymbals. Here was the response:

Here’s the history that our customer relayed to me today.

He said that Andy Gibb purchased the cymbals in Europe and gave them to his drummer Tubby Zigler (I believe this occurred in 1983). Our customer purchased them from Tubby.

Even if it's not true, i now have a good back-story for these cymbals.
