No,but I still have the OB Jazz Fest that came with it!

Funny thing......I grabbed a identical kit...same color/sizes/snare around 15 years ago........Alan White of Oasis bought the snare from me.

Can't remember who got the rest.

From Purdie Shuffle

I owned a Mod Orange Retro LE that had those cherry/gumwood shells. Those drums sound GREAT. I was surprised at how good they sounded. Vintage warmth with modern volume and projection. Nothing 'muddy' sounding about them at all. If Ludwig is using the cherry/gumwood shells on this line, without hearing the new kits, I can tell you these are going to be some terrific sounding drums.$850. introductory price sounds about right to me. They picked a price-point right in the 'intermediate kit' range. Good on Ludwig. Somebody over there is really starting to 'get it.'I want one!* Mike is correct, I owned a 59' clubdate kit and there are older ones around.John

I had owned a '58 burgandy lacquer 13,22,pioneer snare w/ a classic 16.

I know where it lives!!

From blairndrums

I sold a 1965 Oyster Blue CD kit recently for $750 in 20,12,14 sizes......needed around $100-150 to make perfect....no extra holes........so,for around the price of a new kit made in China,I sold someone a rare finish kit in very good + condition.Which would you rather have?Blair

I'm with Blair on this one!

I recently posted two Club Dates sets in the gallery, one a 71 Gold Sparkle and the other a 66 Champagne Sparkle. I did the "fix-up" and detail on them. The first one sold for $750, the second for $810.

I'd MUCH rather have the ORIGINAL: and why pay more for the copies, even if they are new?

Just my :2Cents:

Yep. Kinda came to the same conclusion. Local shop's marked down a 10/12/16/22 set of CS Legacies down to $1499. *Really* wanted them but then did a gig with my 3 plies. Ok, why would I spend the money?

Agreed.

Nice new kits for sure. For the same price though a lot of history and better shells. Which way do the scales tip?

If I was going to spend money on a new "club date" style kit Id get one from Bill Cardwell at C+C. More money, but the drums are made in the USA (Gladstone Shells), the money would be going to someone who honestly cares about the history (and future) of quality American made drums, and on top of that he is a heck of a good guy!

Just my 2 cents

He has a price list on the site. They go between $1200 and $2000. Pricey, but about as high quality and "modern vintage" as you can get! Shells are 3 ply maple/poplar/maple with rings!

He also makes a walnut/poplar/walnut shell. Very excited to hear those.
