Well Mike, I know where you are in terms of health issues. Maybe we can go sit on the porch together, listen to some Wide Spread Panic, maybe a little Driving Song, Porch Song, Ain't Life Grand...just came to mind for this post.

I really like this kit, maybe you get $800-$1,000 for the shell pack, and selling the snare and everything else separately? I know that seems a bit out of whack, but it does have some issues, not huge ones, but they are there. I'm not the expert on Ludwig, but I have moved a few sets of 6 ply B/O shells. Never had a natural maple/thermo-gloss, but those are nice. Being 6 ply, they are not quite as desirable as 3 ply, but that config and the finish will likely pump up the value a bit. I don't know what your expectations are, but just from what my limited knowledge of this market is that the 6 ply bring XXX and that is it. Also, I have noticed that the resale on most Monroe drums is not significant. Now, I may well be way out of line, but it seems to me that is what I have seen on the bay.

For instance, this kit is new, 18-12-14 is selling for 1685.00:

For whatever reason, I can't seem to copy and paste from ebay...

Here is one like yours, new, and it is virgin bass a little more than 2800..So I may not be too far off the mark.

Kind of off topic, but did Ludwig make a 402 in COB? And if so, how come

JHB didn't use that instead of the COS? Guess I can check my Cook

Ludwig book but its packed from a recent move.

And, Mike - best of health and recovery mate, and wish you didn't

feel like you had to sell all your gear!

Found it!!

I may be wrong but, I don't think the top rim on the LM402 is original. I love the set.

Jonnistix thanks you I am pretty m uch in line with what you are saying and with two toms I think 1000.00 without and 1500.00 with the snare is a fair price, I will offer these here first and for a week or so and like i said I will part out the rest, so if anyone is interested in any of it let me know and I can supply whatever pics you may want...

and everyone thank you very much for the get well wishes it is like starting over and learning how to live all over getting a auto immune disease at 60 years old but hey I had fun getting to 60 and I will make the most of the rest of my time,so no tears or sobs lets keep this party a hoppin.. thanks all..

I heard Bonham played a early 60's COB 402 and compared it to a early 70's aluminum one,and liked that one better!
