Need help with some marching drums

have 2 S-land TDR's and a Ludwig Challenger I need to re gut them Any idea what is the best way to do it material wise ?

I've heard of tennis string but need more info.

The Slingy snares aren't made anymore the Ludwigs I can't get snares for the 15" drum.

Any advice welcomed

I've used tennis gut, ..it comes in several guages, & is very inexpensive by the yard. The thinnest work well. They can be easily used on simple mechanisms, by just threading them back & forth, but some of the marching snares use individual metal ends on each strand, which would be much more difficult to rebuild.
