Need help with Rogers Drum Set

Loading...

Greetings all,

I need your help. I am looking at purchasing a Rogers drum kit. The seller states the kit is a "Rogers Script Logo Set" dated 1969 and that these were the last of the Ohio Made drums that were assembled in Fullerton California, and the paper tags inside of these drums were only used for one year. The sizes are 8x12", 9x13", 16x16" & 13x22" and the color looks like black diamond pearl. I think he may have made a mistake with the bass drum as most I have seen are 14x22??.

The bass drum has 10 lugs but most of the brochures I have seen show 8 or 6.

Does this sound right. I have included a photo.

Cheers,

They never made a 6 lug BD

22's have 10 per side

anything smaller has 8...............

Bass is likely 22x14 actually. Very rare for it to be 22x12, and never 22x13. I think he guestimated the depth with the head/rims still on.

Hello...You can take a head off and count the plys or ask the seller if he knows or see if he can count them for you. More than likely, they are. Nice looking drums.....Joe

1969, early fullerton, most likely, all five ply drums. But.... there is a possibility you could find an errant three ply shell. You could also find a cleveland badge on one of those fullerton speckled drums. Not very likely, but they have been seen.

I would say definitely do your homework with the different eras of Rogers.. Cleveland - Dayton - Fullerton. The drums changed quite a bit.. as do the values. Just know what your getting.
