Need help replacing tacked on bottom head for 1939 Ludwig & Ludwig tom

I have searched both this forum and others, but haven't quite found the information I am looking for. Does anyone know how to replace a tacked on calfskin drum head on a vintage tom? I have found bits and pieces of information, but have not been able to get any detailed instructions. If you have successfully done this, can you give some information on how to do it? Thanks!]
