Can anyone give me any insight on what this shell really is? Drilled for 10 lugs and a magnet will not stick to the shell.
Nashville era brass 5X14 snare shell
10 lug Krupa Sound King?
Cool shell. First Nashville cloud badge I've seen. Would look great with tube lugs. Hope the serious Slingerland folks chime in.

When did Slingerland come back to the center bead shell? I know it was used early on into the 40's. Then seems to disappear and the lined shells came in and lasted it seems well into the 90's. Tube lugs or the center scalloped streamline are what I've seen on these. Maybe the inside shots of seam and hole spacing measurements would help? Is it a heavy shell or lighter? Agree hope the experts chime in for you! Cool shell.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.
Yes, to what Glenn said... also is there a snare bed on this one??.. That may be another indicator..
Cheers

Here's some more pics...one of the seam, and two of the snare beds...which I really can't see. The lug spacing is 2". The throw spacing is 1 1/2" and butt is 1 3/4". The shell weighs in at 1,580 grams.
