UPDATE:
Bass drum has been glued, sanded and polished. Hardware has been remounted. My unfortunate discovery is that the threading on the wing screw hole on the left spur is stripped and needs to be re-tapped. After trying to do it myself last night I called around to machinists and they led me to a guy who is going to put a new insert (helicoil?) in there and fix it up real nice like!
Also, there is a picture of one of the inside of the lug casings, I guess I am trying to get it done and have taken less pictures on this part than before. I'll post what I have.
Oh yeah, got a white ambassador bass head and bought a Slingy decal from ebay user Bodo10 and applied it to the head after removing the Remo logo with nail polish remover (I was nervous because there was a black cloud at first but after going through a few cotton balls I got it completely off). I did it myself and it looks FANTASTIC! I have never been able to put a sticker on without bubbles ever, this one was really easy!!
Again, I'll post final pictures soon. I hope to have this thing done tonight!!! If not probably Monday night (gotta watch my Giants in the Super Bowl!!)
Oh yeah, I just wanted to comment that on ALL of the drums that I opened up EVERY piece of felt was in great condition after all these years. I didn't have to replace any of it. Weird!
