I want to re-wrap some 1979 Gretsch's and besides my personal preferences, I'm wondering what you all think would be the most popular sparkle color, if I ever wanted to sell them.

It will be a nice players kit for you. Do you have any current pics?

I can't get my hands on a '79 catalog but if they were still offering green sparkle, I'd personally go that route. Those will be nice drums when you get them pulled together.

60's Gretsch Round Badge 22/13/16
'71 Ludwig B/O Badge 20/12/13/14/16
'72 Ludwig B/O Badge Jazzette 18/12/14
'65 Rogers Holiday 20/12/16

Thanks for all that. I was leaning towards the green sparkle anyway. I'd hoped to refinish the original clear maple but the 22 b.d. has a million extra holes. Definitely going to be a player kit. I'd rather make the b.d. a virgin and put the 9x13 in a snare stand. I'll take some pics and do the before and after thing. Thanks for the input. Anyone have a 2nd gen. stop sign badge in any shape? The floor tom(16x16) is missing his.
