We are playing some outdoor gigs this summer and I need to mike my drums. We do country, rock-a-billy, & blues, with an EDGE, (Lead, Bass, Drums), Our vocal only PA system will not handle my drums so I plan to run snare, toms, cymbals through a non-powered mixer into a Peavey 100 keyboard amp with an 18" & a horn and very strong. I have been told by sound techs and musicians that I would break the speaker cone before our gig was complete if I ran the Bass Drum though that system. What kind of speaker could I run my Bass Drum through and have it last. I can still run the Bass Drum through my mixer and have it panned left and all other drums & cymbals panned right. Would a sub-woofer work???
Any suggestions for an old drummer, playing since 1959?
Thanks for your help,
Joe Pearl
