Mid-70s Ludwig Acrolite

Loading...

Typically great sounding 5x14 Ludwig Acrolite in collector's condition. Pointy B/O badge and earlier multi-hole strainer. No dents, and all original from the heads to the hardware, with no rust or pitting. I've never seen another this clean or in such good shape. The screw heads aren't even buggered up. Only issue is a small tear in the reso head where it looks to have been put on the stand wrong. It doesn't affect the sound, but if you prefer I'll swap for a clear Ludwig Rocker (the other head is Ambassador weight, though, and I think these sound best with the lighter reso heads). $125 plus actual shipping, your choice of carriers. Usually $15-20.

I have the case, but it's up to you whether you want it. Both latches are gone and the hinge (which is all plastic) isn't going to stand many more years of opening and closing. Shipping would be cheaper without it, but if you want it it's yours for whatever the extra shipping cost is.

Currently playing for loud rock and roll gigs:
1982 Ludwig Classic in white Cortex, 24-13-14-18 + Coliseum snare
For quieter gigs:
Early '70s Whitehall Tiger Eye Pearl 20-12-14-14
Neglected but thinking about:
Early '70s Sonor Champions in Rosewood, 22-12-13-16
