OK you math genius's let me put this to you. lets say you have the following size drum set, 2 24" bass drums

8/10/12 concert toms 12/13/14/15 suspended toms 16/18/20 floor toms

how many differentt configurations can you come up with, not using the same one twice. example

(24" 12 16) (24" 13 18) ( 24" 10 13 16) and so on. I started a sheet writing with the different configurations and I stopped at (blank). LOL the possibilites to gig with are endless. how many sets do you come up with?

I'm thinking of a number Jump For Joy

Ok, I guess we have to make assumptions about the configurations; hanging a bass drum, etc. So I calculate 10!x2

Well... 10!x2 is a very large number.

10x9x8x7x6x5x4x3x2x1 and then two bass drums soo that times 2.

First - unless you designate the number of drums that are to be used in each set up, it becomes an astronomical sized number of combinations based on the 12 drum core group. Lets say that you designate 5 drums per set-up. The formula becomes: 12 x 11 x 10 x 9 x 8 = 95,040 different ways to set up the drums. And that's just based on possible combinations consisting of only 5 drums each... Slingerland has 12 drums to choose from to create the sets!

Based on 12, at some point you'd have to number the possible permutations in Light Years! LOL

Trick question!!!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Yup, but I refused to consider hanging the bass drums...I don't swing that way, so I used 10!. And what if two drums would be melded to one, ala Van Halen.

That`s the first time I`ve seen a fire extinguisher set up with a kit. I do notice the green duct tape in case anything should break !i

When you come up with this number, add a snare and then do it all over again !i
