Made another "Faux" vintage kit

Loading...

I spent a few late nights experimenting with how to make ye olde Psychedelic Red. Once I nailed it, it was time to cobble together yet another faux vintage kit.

A while back I came across some 10-ply Poplar/Basswood/Mahogany Shells. After cutting them down to 22X14, 16X16 and 13X9, I cut vintage style bearing edges. 45 inside and roundover outside with the peak just a smidge outside of center.

Wrapped up up in our new Psychedelic Red Drum Wrap

Voila! They sound just right too. Deep, Fat and Punchy!

Let me be the first to say that I am truly amazed at your artistry! These drums go far beyond the word "craftsmanship"! You are amazing, sir and your drums are things of beauty! Unbelievable!

Yes, those are super sweet. The wrap is a little "zanier" than the 60s stuff but still cool..

Good stuff....What is the thickness of the wrap? I am worried that it might be a little thick for an old Gretsch kit that i am looking to restore..

Keep fixing them up...

Most of our wraps range from 19 mil to 22 mil. This particular one is 22 mil.We can make it extra thing on request though, around 14 mil or so.
