Got started on this tonight.
Tillerva introduced me to the previous owner, thanks again for helping this happen!
A Lyon @ Healy 15 x 3.75 marching snare, probably from around the turn of the century or so. I had a smaller version of this drum with a birdseye maple veneer over mahogany last year, and foolishly sold it. So, I'm happy to have another in it's place now.
The shell is a thin sheet of brass, overlapped and riveted. I was going to just leave it as is, but when I looked through the vent hole and saw the nearly pristine interior, I disassembled her. I tried cleaning a small section of the exterior with a Cape Cod polishing cloth, and it slowly revealed an exterior finish nearly as pristine as the interior. I've got a long ways to go, the 3 inch section I cleaned so far took about 45 minutes... but I think it's going to be worth it. More pics tomorrow.
