Hey everyone

I was thinking if the lugs (Large, small, match, tube) will have an effect on the sound of Toms or Bass drums?

Of course.

Anything that touches the shell has an influence on the sound.

They do, but it doesn't really matter nearly as much as today's drum manufacturers are trying to imply by designing more and more crazy no-touchy, ultra-totally-awesome-resonance gadgets.

Tom mounts are much bigger influence and on bass drums, hardly anything matters, IMHO.

I dunno, but my DW's have those old Camco lug boxes and they sing all day. My old Ludwig Downbeat goes on too, and that Rack Tom is directly mounted on the Bass Drum via a Consolette rail!! My old Ludwig 400 goes Claaaaaangggg off of a Rim shot. My Gretsch's have just the right amount of "life" in the sound for me. All this stuff was designed eons ago.

The one thing that has helped my sound is the Pearl ISO mount snare stands and floor tom legs.

I've said it before....

I feel the Heavy (Cleveland) Rogers lugs give the drums a great sound.........

I put light Fullerton lugs on a Holiday kit once, and it sounded horrible!
