The groundwork for this is already in place. The problem is it is all over the web sites in different spots.

I wish I had the time to complete this type of project, but it would be a monumental task.

The ground work is located at the top navigation - Drum Hardware. (It is also in the top navigation of the forum)

That takes you to the different drum companies and the different hardware to be identified.

There are different sections in place for Slingerland that cover the topic really well in its own section. Also the early Rogers section covers the early strainers and Id'ing them.

I have to ponder on this to see if there is a better way to put this all in perspective for visitors.

I have perused the hardware section you mentioned and man oh man I can see that it would be a monumental task to catalogue even further. What I was thinking was maybe a sticky thread that just received posts from the members, actual pics rather than catalogue cut and paste's ( is that correct English?) I find that the catalogue pictures can often be hard to really see the pieces , whether they be lugs, strainers, tone controls etc Plus aditional info could be added such as thread type, dimensions , nicknames (Ie:Bread and Butter) etc etc I'm sure you know what I'm trying to say.

Then maybe over the course of time (mainly yours admittedly) the pics / info posted could be added to the aforementioned sections with all the extra info that the illustrious members of this forum can add. Some of the guys on here undoubtably know more than the actual makers of these vintage drums.

Well it was just a though on my behalf and I'd be grateful to hear the thoughts on this subject...especially yours Mr Webmaster.
