Ludwig Snare - 1920's? Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Loading...

Another piece that I acquired in the early '90s. Again, didn't know what I had, but this seemed to survive my high school garage band days.

No serial number, but thanks to the Drum Identifier page, it looks like a 1936 Marine Pearl snare. The badge on this piece doesn't exactly match up with any on the Badge Identifier page, so maybe it is a contender for a new line item? I'm no pro, so any info would be appreciated!

The twenties version of that badge is gonna have..."Chicago" only, and centered under the Ludwig&Ludwig. That`s a thirties badge. Can you do close-up of Strainer ?

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Hi Oddball - thanks for the info! The drum is still in my mom's basement (yes, I'm "that" guy), so it will be a short while before I can get back down to get some more pictures. After posting this, as well as my drum set, I have some other shots I want to grab as well. I'll get some better detail shots and post them up. Strainer, lugs, damper, any interior shots if I access. For now, I zoomed in on the original pic to see the strainer better.

Look through the badge hole for a date stamp inside the drum?
