I have 2 Blue/Olive badge 8X12 toms from the 70s. The lugs on one has hidden/low inserts where the t-rods screw in while the other inserts are exposed/high like all the other lugs on the 9X13 rack tom and 16X16 floor tom - which is correct? Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, lugs should have tall, chrome inserts. Have some older, small classic, nickel lugs with short ones, but all chrome I've seen, have tall chrome inserts.
