Ludwig Marching Snare..What do I have here?

Loading...

Been using this 10 x 14 marching snare for a handful of public appearances. Occasionally someone will come up and ask me about it. I really don't know that much about it. I've had it for probably 15 years. It originally came with a leg brace (I've removed it but still have it) and what looks like a small ring for a neck strap clasp on one of the tension rods. It came with a rim "mount" of some sort so it could be used with a carrier.

The badge appears to indicate a late 60 early 70 model.

Any thoughts or more info welcome.

Thanks.

WBW.

Nice looking drum. Most likely a very early 70's drum. Here is an image from the '71 Ludwig catalog showing what you have.

Nice drum, held up very well. As always Mike is spot on. We had a few of them on my HS drum line.
