Wanted the the color but not pay the price of vintage .
Ludwig Element Psychedelic red .
Nice snare !
I did the same and picked one up as the snares in the Psy-Red are harder than hens teeth to find and the prices are out of this world. I have an early 70's snare that the wrap was trashed that I will be re-wrapping with the Psy-Red as soon as I find one that I like. Delmar makes them to match the original but no-one seems to have any in stock. I talked to Precision and they don't have any in stock as you have to buy a large quantity from Delmar if you want some and they said they don't have the orders to justify it. I looked at the other suppliers (Jammin, Bum, etc) but the samples I received just don't quite do it for me. In time . . . .
Good luck with the snares.

Honestly, Bumwrap Drum Co offers the best Psych Red wraps available. Our esteemed member, K.O., can attest to this! Here's a picture of the four samples sent to me:
Top left: Red Psychedelic More Blue
Top right: Red Psychedelic
Bottom left: Red Psychedelic Faded No Green
Bottom right: Red Psychedelic Faded
In addition, here are some pictures of a Ludwig shell I wrapped in the "more blue" version.
IMHO, the wrap used for the Element kit is more in line with what JS is offering...and is a more "modern" interpretation, if that's what you're after.
