I have a chance to pick up this clean Ludwig bb kit on a trade deal. I know it's not the most popular finish, but I dig them. Anyone else like them?

I do like the finish and hope to have a set one day. Those look superb! Bet that 24 really talks!
Not for me, but as long as you like them, that's all that matters.
I know there's at least one great drummer who loved that finish.Cool1
They sorta have retro '70's appeal for me. I like to look at them more than I would want to own any, kind of like acrylic drums. I think they're cool when other people play them, if that makes sense.
Always thought they would look good with gold-plated hardware.

Late '50's WFL Swingster/Barrett Deems in black/gold Duco
'70's Slingerland Gene Krupa Sound King COB
early '70's Ludwig Acrolite
'80's Ludwig Rocker II 6 1/2" snare
Rogers Supreme Big "R" hi hat
I saw Alan play this set back in the 80's when I was in high school. They sounded great and I even got him to autograph the cover of my MD from then as well and I still have it.
I have a set with the 2-rack toms. Have been in the hunt for the matching snare to round out the kit. A friend had a Rogers kit way back when I was in HS and I always wanted a kit with the wrap. Even thought it wasn't the most popular wrap I always thought they were cool so I jumped when it came available. Mike's right, the 24 must have some great punch to it
Enjoy!
Michael
