Ludwig Bongos

Hey, Learned Ludwig Lovers,

What is a good price for vintage Ludwig bongos? I saw a pair for sale on ebay for $165 plus $25 shipping. They are silver sparkle, appear to be in good condition, but have no labels (badge). No stand or mounting brackets, but good heads.

https://m.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Silver-Sparkle-Ludwig-Bongo-Drums/332501448533?hash=item4d6aa17755:g:OCQAAOSwSQFaMby3

Is this a fair price?

Thanks.

Without old keystone or no badge not much

66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I've seen psych red bongo drums sell for 3-500 bucks. They didn't have a badge or a stand either. BTW, Some bongos were mounted off the bass drum, not a stand.

No badge? $100 shipped if in good condition.

Keep fixing them up...

Those bongo shells weren't usually badged, the wood block in-between had the badge. Or in this case an oval sticker that says Ludwig on it. So these are legit, just missing the sticker and mounting plate.

So for those of you who aren’t put off by the lack of badge, do you see this as a competitive price or too steep?

Thanks.

A bit high in my opinion, for silver sparkle I would be more in the 100-125 range.

New, that’s exactly what I was thinking but wanted a second opinion. Thanks.

Here's a couple of screen shots from the Ludwig catalog for reference...

So last night I sent a note to the seller, explaining that I’d be a player at $120. When I got up this morning, I saw an email from him, advising me that he relisted them at a Buy-it-now price of $130. I went to check out the listing but couldn’t find it.

Turned out he listed them for BIN price of $100, plus $30 shipping. He did this at 3:30am. They sold at 3:33. I guess the really really really early bird gets the worm.
