10 lug 6.5 x 14 in ugly cortex finish. If i strip the cortex will the outer ply survive, and will I have maple exposed? (6 ply, no reinforcement hoops)

Yes to both of your question's..Used a heat gun on the cortex finish and get it hot it will come off easy then you will fine a maple ply under that..Mikey

Cortex is off! what stain would be origional to this drum? exterior is maple, has 10 bowtie lugs and 6.5 x 14. The catalog showed a picture that looked like blond or straight varnish. Any help would be great! S/M
