Think of it as a cross between the sound of an aluminum Supraphonic and a wood (maple) snare......crisp yet warm.

I have two hammered drums - both Premier Modern Classics - and while they are colourful, they can also sound a bit dull. I'd get a standard 6.5 Supra.

I just recorded a 1968 6.5" Supra with brushes and rimshots. Before tracking, I played three snares to the engineer and producer - the 6.5" Supra, a 6.5" Legacy, and a 5" Supra with a Fiberskyn head. The moment we went back to the 6.5 Supra for a second listen, there was no hesitation that it was going on the whole record. They even laughed when we heard it again.
