Hi all!

I'm restoring a Ludwig '74 3 ply with re-ring maple/?/maple?

kit, and wondering what kind of impact the coating on the inside of the drums have on the tone.

I know I don't care for the way it looks, but should I leave it for collector value or tone?

If you think it should go, can I just sand it, or are there any special techniques involved?
