I recently picked up a Leedy and Strupe on ebay. Does anyone have info on these? I will post pics later. Thanks for any help.

Leedy & Strupe made drums from c.1931 -1939. They tried some experimental designs, but never became successful. If you have one of there "Master Tension" drums there may be some interest, but otherwise, their standard drums don't command much attention or resale $$. I have one of their wood snares w/ 6 of their unique lugs, that is a budget model 6 1/2X14". It's more interesting to keep & play,

Thanks for the info. Here is a pic. There is no badge and it has 6 tube lugs. I didnt buy it for resale. I was interested in having something other than another brass shell from that era. Thanks again

How did you identify this as L&S, & are you sure it's Aluminum ?

I have a friend that is a collector and he identified by the strainer. It is definitely aluminum and a very thin shell. Very sensitive drum. I havent found any info on it anywhere.

I'm surprised by all The L&S snares that have come out of the woodwork since last year. There are quite a few brass snares for sale w/ tube, & also L&S lugs. There are also some aluminum shells out there. Thanks for the photo.
