Looking to identify my Rogers Kit.

Loading...

The snare is aluminium (I'm trying to upload more pictures but it's not going very well..) And yes it has 10 lugs. She did tell me it was "custom made" so maybe it's a special order? Also I looked inside and it doesn't have any special markings. There is a sort of damaged area that's circle shaped so it's possible something has been there earlier.

Also I found an old paper with the bands birth dates and most of them seem to be from the early 50's or late 40's. Not that that hinders them to buy something older then a kit from the 70's but still it's maybe more likely that he bought it in his 40's or later and I don't think he bought it second hand at least.

The kit is in wood for sure but it seems the floor toms (Tom 3 and 4) are painted or coated in something grey'ish.

As I totally fail at adding attachments I'll just post the links here and maybe a nice admin can add them to the first post. XD ..

Inside snare drum

Inside floor tom

Inside hang tom 1

Inside base drum (The mic is a UNISOUND 31 II L Super Cardoid Mic.)

Ploughman seems correct in 76 year. First year Big R badges sets had Swivomatic mounts and hex legs on the floor tom.

All of them are 6.5 and 10 lug. I don`t think Ludwig made any other 10 lug Acrolites but these. They got out to the streets by way of city auctions.

You have a ten lug Acrolite.

And what might such a thing be selling for? XD

Also looking at some pictures at a 14x6.5 10 lug acrolyte the lugs don't looks simular at all and mine looks more compact.

Ten lug Acrolites were for NYC. Schools. You however have the imperial lugs so,... I look around the net some.

Don`t lose it, or drop it.

I don`t think the drilling lines up for the two different lugs.

Snare drum

Here's a better photo of the lugs.

Googleing for Ludwig Acrolyte Imperial 10 lug seems to give one very exact drum. Or rather there was one person who posted images from his Acrolyte with original Imperials on and the dates on that were 78.

From this pic we can clearly see that it's a Supraphonic that has been painted. You can see the chrome flaking under the paint.
