Hey all,
I'm new to the forum, but just got a great little blue sparkle MIJ kit under the brand name "US Mercury." Not bad for $79 bucks! Anyhow, it did not have a floor tom, so if someone is looking to part with one of their 'orphans' I would love to have it.
I'd strongly prefer a 14 inch one, but I can't be too picky. Blue sparkle would be a major plus and it is important to me that the tom have the reinforcement rings as this kit does. I want to have that "sound" if that makes sense...
Apparently the earlier 60's drums had the thin shells with re-rings and the later, 70's ones had thicker shells without re-rings. Generally, this is true, but I'm sure there are exceptions.
Thanks in advance for any replies, this forum has been such a great resource to me as far as learning about old drums, restoration, dating/value etc.
For those wary of dealing with a new member I'm a verified Paypal user and have had 100% perfect feedback on my Ebay account for several years running
Anyhow, I'm on the hunt!
