looking for Cadillac Green lacquer

I'm looking for a supplier for Cadillac Green lacquer.

I came right out and asked Gretsch if they'd give me their paint code - I was not surprised that could not do that........thought I'd check with the source first haha.

My drum is being made in New York - I live in BC Canada. I can't just go get a sample off someones drum. In fact I've never seen the finish in real life - just photos.

I tried a high end auto shop paint store here but they said it would be impossible to match the paint without knowing the old codes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

The unfortunate thing is that "Cadillac Green" could mean anything. However, if it's really is a car colour, it's probably not that difficult to find it. The funniest thing is that Gibson and Fender used auto paints. Pellham Blue, Fiesta Red and Olympic White were all Dupont car colours, and they overlap with several different names. If it's unsuccessful finding a code, research what colours Cadillac was using during the time the Cadillac Green drum was produced.

What I am saying is that it's probably not as much of a needle in the haystack as it seems. Just wish I had a code for you.

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!

Gretsch is still making special edition Cadillac Green guitars, I am certain you could find one and scan the colour from the guitar.

2nd on ReRanch stuff!!!!

While the directions are guitar-centric, you can transfer a LOT of the knowledge to refinishing drums. Bill's a pretty good guy.
