I personally don't have mine linked for the very reason I would take all the money out,lol. So I leave it as us strictly for online purchases. But I know many people who have it linked with no issues.

Have mine linked with no problems. When I sell an item, I simply transfer the funds to my bank account.

Paypal likes to be linked to a bank account. Usually make payments without or with less fees since they get their money right away.

Downside, if there is any question about payment or refunding, they have direct contact with your account to make it "right".

No problems for me for several years' use.

They can't just make it "right" by going into your bank account. VERY Illegal. To make it "right" they will freeze your PayPal account so you can't use their services until it's rectified. They can only debt your bank account with authorization. With that said, I have used it PayPal for years as others have with no problems.

Mine is linked and I have a PP debit card. Bought some shipping supplies from Walmart a few months ago with my non chip PP debit card and it got skimmed, was using the self check out station. Someone used my skimmed PP card and $ got sucked out of my linked account! Everything was reversed but that kind of stuff is un nerving to say the least.

PP sends me a new debit card and again without a chip, lol. Chipped cards can't be skimmed as far as I know...
