Levon Helm Snare Drum question

Loading...

levon did an instructional video in 1992 where he plays Yamaha drums. In it he plays a two tone metal snare. Do any of you know what model it was? Have you seen the video and could a new drummer like me learn from it? Thanks

Is this the drum you're referring to?

That's a Yamaha SD 493 snare.

Nice snare ,too bad they don't make them anymore.

Thanks, yes that is it. Does anyone know about his DVD there. I am thinking of buying it just because I'm a fan. I'm sure the instruction is above my head

Levon has so much to offer a learning drummer. Brilliant grooves, serves the song. He is a very rooted drummer. Enjoy!

Then there are the Band songs pianist Richard Manuel played on--also worth a study--especially Rag Mama Rag
