Hi , I am just cleaning up a Leedy NOB snare from the 20s, so if anybody is interested in this drum,
I am asking 350. EURO.
As far as I know this drum must have been made, when Leedy changed the lug design from the the 2- point to the 4- piont version.
These lugs are still made out of brass and not of that later alucast material.
I have only seen an other one on a french forum so far, so I guess these are extremly rare and only a few have been made before
they changed to that better known 4 point alu-cast lugs.
But if anyone knows better or has more information, please post it here.
The shell has two small dents and a bigger on the strainer mounting spot. Also a vent is mountet there which doesnt seems
to be original and one tension rod and clip is missing. Everything else is there.
I have mor pics, PM me or send a mail to tomaslemker@web.de and I will send a zip file.
I will ad a second strainer, may be for testing a replating or just as a spare if you want to do a players drum.
So I will go on with cleaning and if nobody wants to have it here it goes to ebay.
I am also interested in trades. So I am looking for any early Ludwig two-piece heavy brass shell snares
( those with the soldered-back bearing edges)
Or a pair of 18" Radio King engraved single-flanged hoops.
Or may be somebody has a collection of lets say 200 Slingerland Logo stamped lug-mounting washers.... ?
( this is no joke, I am just building me a custom set with keller VSS shells complety fitted with Sonor bassdrum lugs
from the 50s. And I really would like to mount them all with these washers.)
