Ludwig has a Black beauty Model. This is an OG Black Beauty. The term was for these engraved gun meatal snares before Ludwig coined the model.

That`s correct. But most of us vintage drum guys call the Elite, the Ludwig Deluxe, and I think there`s a Slingerland gun metal snare, Black Beauty`s. They were the birth place of the BB Model.

Damn, that thing went to h*ll and back. Not gonna be cheap for it to restore it but it`s Brass, and that patina has set in, Still, you have all the parts, for a item by item deep clean that i don`t think will come out that bad.

Anything like plating, scratches, that are missing should stay that way in my opinion. I wouldn`t re-plate anything, just deep clean it and it should be cool.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Check out this interesting thread. Turns out Slingerland actually used the name Black Beauty, and before Ludwig. http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=52895&highlight=slingerland+black+beauty

Leedy also called their earlier 20's black engraved models "Multi Model Classics" before the Elite name came along. This is one that I owned a few years ago...
