Lavender Satin Flame Set is now complete

I received and installed the parts to complete the 7" x 14" 1961 snare for my 1968 Slingerland Lavender Satin Flame drum set. The drums measure 8 x 12, 9 x 13, 16 x 16, and 14 x 20.

1. The current version of the Rowlux Illusion Film wrap is the same color but more splotchy in shimmering effect than the older wavy shimmering effect.

2. The snare drum needed a new butt plate and snare attachment strings. Those were an easy fix.

3. The badge with the outer portion of the grommet had been glued to the painted shell. I removed the badge and partial grommet before wrapping the shell. I then installed the badge with a new grommet as they should be installed.

Now, the drums are complete.

Thanks, Mark. I've had many Slingerland and Slinger/Leedy drum sets since the early 1960s. The drums in this set match the great sounds of my favorites of those drum sets. It's impossible to describe a sound and a feel. But, when you find the sound and feel of drums that please you the most, that will always be your standard for comparison.

Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
