This is a super sweet players kit. I love the Gold Sparkle. I am drooling.
Very nice job and the work has been well rewarded! Lew

No question this is a WOW kit mate! I have a '70 Powertone kit and have wanted to do the same thing. Your kit looks great and really inspires me to get my @$$ in gear!
I have looked at a lot of gold sparkle wrap and it all looks orange to me. And what exactly is meant by a "players kit". I think I know but at what point do you determine that it is a players and what is the alternative?

Interesting question. I guess to me a 'players kit' is a restoration in which the main purpose is to make the kit fully functional, preserving the essence of the sound, but accepting that the kit is no longer original. If a kit had never been stripped; had all the hardware intact; no extra holes - then I would do a different kind of restoration. One similar to a museum I suppose. Once you wrap a kit, it's never going to be worth what an original kit would be. Also I really am going to gig this kit - otherwise I suppose I might have just put Swivomatic fittings on it. As elegant as they are, I just hate fiddling with them so my solution was to add modern fittings including RIMS (without extra holes). Some people hate this idea. But I wouldn't even undo the lugs from my blue Rogers, because as far as I can tell, the screws haven't been touched since 1964. Also I wouldn't re-edge a kit in original condition. This gold kit sounds great and it sounds like a Rogers. But it certainly didn't come from the factory like that; so to me - it's a players kit. $00.02
