Here's another YoMusic Slingerland snare from the 2000-2002 era.

Is that brass, bronze, or copper?? Or copper wrapped wood?

I'm curious where MusicYo sourced their drums. I've read its Korea. I own a Gretsch Taiwanese-made set (Renown Maple) that was made for Gretsch by Taye and they're very high quality overall and sound wonderful.

Korea has made advances in their manufacturing quality over the years (look what they've done with Kia cars). I'm sure the Korean made drums of 2000- aren't quite the same low quality as the Korean made drums of the 80's.

The shell is copper. It's quite heavy and has a tone similar to, but brighter than Slingerland COB and COS metal drums I've seen. Like many US made Slingerland metal drums, the shell was not extruded, but wrapped and joined---although the joint is well hidden with good finish.

I changed the butt to the earlier, heavier Slingerland butt.

I'm guessing it was made in Taiwan, but am not at all certain of that.
