Late 60's Star bass drum lugs for 20" Kick

Loading...

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for lugs for a late 60's Star 20" bass drum. Checked out a few local shops, but no luck. A friend gave me his old Star kit which I fixed up. The bass drum lugs are ok, but a few on the bottom of the drum are badly corroded. Just want to have some back up lugs. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Chris -

We don't talk to anyone who does not know how to attach a pic......

Just kidding!!!.....make sure you compress the pic before attaching it to a response (paper clip). PLEASE throw a pic up - we LOVE to see Old Stars around here (and other drums too)....and by the way.....

Welcome to the VDF! Let me know if you need help other than this lug that I have none. :(

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Hey John,

Thank you for the reply. Good to be on here. Have that photo for you. Check it out.

8x12, 14x20 Star drums, 16x16 Ludwig floor tom.

Replaced the lug inserts on both Star drums. For the kick I bought Gibraltar maple hoops, new t-claws, and tension rods. Kit sounds great live.

Have a good night, and talk to you soon.

Hello,

Those lugs are very rare and you should be glad to already have a complete set, although perhaps in bad condition.

NB: Sorry, I don't have those spare parts.

Hello Ralf,

Yeah...I really lucked out with this kit. I want to replace at least 3 or 4 lugs due to bad corrosion. They have been a ***** to find, but I'm patient, I'll find them. In fact, someone sent me a message stating he has some lugs for me. See what happens.

Thanks Ralf. Have a good day.

I might have a couple of those lugs kicking around the shop.

If I do, I'll give em to ya.
