Alright guys. Here's the dirt on this one. Sorry for the horrible pics, but the drum is not in my possession as of right now. These are iPhone pics from my buddy who picked up the drum...just to give me a basic idea of what I am working with.
Looks like a mid-late 50's Radio King. Obviously BDP. Needs the arm for the clamshell or "super" strainer (no surprise). I see there are repros made for relatively cheap.
Also, looks like someone took off the adjustable butt end of the clamshell and replaced it with an early Zoomatic...which resulted in 3 extra holes. Lame But atleast they replaced it with actual Slingerland parts!
I am pretty sure I could fill the holes, punch out some bdp from some sample sheets to cover them, and then I would just need the original butt and some Puresound wires....and that pesky bottom hoop.
Does anyone know if these Super Clamshell Adjustable Butt ends are impossible to find? Seems like they are based on my preliminary search of the net. None on flea-bay etc.
Let me know what y'all think and if I am incorrect on any of my deductions of the era of the drum. I am getting a pretty nice Slingy collection going here!
Thanks!
Adam
