Late 20's Early 30's Ludwig 6 1/2 X 14 Nob Snare Drum

Loading...

Hello, up for grabs is a fine snare drum that needs a good new home. I'm cleaning out the drum closet and getting rid of drums I have two of. Ludwig 6 1/2 X 14 nickel over brass snare from the late 20's or early 30's. Two piece heavy brass shell with the Ludwig trademark stamp on the left side of the snare strainer. The drum has the original Professional 338 strainer or throw off which works fine and is very smooth. I think some folks call this the "Timepiece" or "Hourglass" throw-off. The drum has 8 tube lugs, all original and none are stripped or cracked. The drum has the original single flange hoops, tension rods and butt plate. The only issues with the drum are 3 extra holes, maybe for a heater element or a bad science experiment gone wrong. The drum also had a internal Ludwig muffler at one point, but the 3 holes are factory and match what a Ludwig internal mufller would be from that period. The clips for the hoops are all modern replacement clips in chrome. Great sounding players grade drum that records very well too. $700.00 gets it shipped to your door with insurance if you live in the 48 states, if going across a big pond we might have to add a little extra shipping. I'll entertain any reasonable offer so somebody give this little fellow a good safe place to live. I can e-mail more photos if you need to see them. Thanks for looking. Clay

Hello vintagedrumforum.com people. I've still got the snare listed above and it needs to go!!!!!

I'm going to stick it on E-bay probably next week, so if you're interested, I'll make it even better. $600.00 which includes shipping with insurance. If you live across the big pond I will have to add extra shipping, just letting you know. If you want to make an offer let me know and thanks for looking. Clay
