Does anyone ever buy these 14" Krut hi-hats? They've been in my closet for 36 years and I forgot I still had them.
I also came across an old 14" Camber...probably part of a hi hat set.
I guess I need to pull everything out and see what I've held on to all these years.
I would probably buy those Krut hats from you, if you wish to sell them.

Brings back memories.My very first pair of hi hats were Krut,but they had brass gromets in the mounting hole,and they were brand new.They sounded pretty good actually.

No doubt. The ride was something akin to a circa 1968, 30 gallon, galvanized steel garbage can lid. However, the lid had a better bell.
Also. Hey! Never knock a pie-plate! You might knock over the pie.

A couple of Ludwig hi-hat stands, Ludwig pedal, 2 Sabian cymbals, Ludwig Standard Ruby Red 22" bass and 12" tom, Chrome Viking snare, Ludwig Rocker dual tom bracket, and way in the back I think I see an original 1971 454 4 speed Corvette Convertible. :eek:

Kruts , are identical to Zyns. In each there are different styles and weights. Krut were basically the Beverley brand of Zyn. They were also sold with Oympic kits but of course , anyone could specify any cymbal, Krut,Zyn, or Super Zyn, with any Premier made kit, if you wanted to pay for them.
There were two shapes to both Zyn and Krut. It seems like it was a way to use the same weight sheetstock to elicit a lighter or fuller sound. The cone shaped Zyns and Kruts sound more like a China cymbal and when paired can sound pretty tinny and this is where the issue, people have with most Zyns/Kruts, is but in the med. weight and conventional profile both can sound pretty good-----definitely superior to many of the cheaper Paistes and Meinls------and more durable. For all their faults, or perceived faults, they are very good entry level cymbals, they don't crack a lot, bend out of shape and have a reasonably bright , rising shimmer and tight chick. I even know one professional drummer who uses a very light set of Kruts, I sold him, for certain purposes. They are over 50 years old and still going strong.

I never, ever before heard anyone having anything nice to say about Kruts. The only plausible reason for Ringo ever owning one, is that he - like most young musicians at the time - couldn´t afford anything better.
Kruts are awful. Zyns can be, but can also have a certain charm and work, Super Zyns are cymbals comparable to other, "real" cymbals from "real" cymbal factories.
