Keith Emerson RIP

I know this is a VDF but I felt it worth mentioning that Keith Emerson of ELP died last night. From what I've read he took his own life.

Such a loss. ELP were one of the Kings of Prog rock. He will be missed.

TMZ: He’d reportedly been suffering from depression over a degenerative nerve issue in one hand that had sharply curtailed his ability to play,

Law enforcement sources apparently have told TMZ that Emerson was found by his girlfriend with a single gunshot to the head. Billboard says his death is being investigated as a suicide.

Last couple of times I saw him play ,you knew something was up.

Saw him in L.A. when he and Greg Lake did a mini-tour prior to the 40th reunion show. He definitely wasn't as fast but it was still enjoyable.

ELP were the first two rock concerts I ever attended (in 1977 and 78).

Such a shame ...

Bloody hell! The poor bastard. I used to love the piano improvisations on Take A Pebble. What a loss to the world!

When It comes to Keyboard Players. There were 3 Giants. Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, and Jon Lord. 2 of whom have passed on. Jon in 2012.

Can't believe it it's hard to understand depression a tough desease ....

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
