K Ziljdian 14 inch hi hat matching set

Loading...

Hello, I am new here. I am a musician, band leader, musical director. I have a matching set of hi-hat 14 inch K Ziljdian cymbals with the signature in the bell underside and a paper label that reads Ziljdian - Made in Turkey. I've had these for many years, I got them with a set of Rogers drums at a yard sale some time in the late 1980's and they were old then! The drum set also came with a 20 inch ride Zildian - Made in the USA - Stamp, looks like type 2? I will have to look more closely at the various stamps you have listed to confirm, I am new here, so bear with me. The drums look 1960's but could be older? I am wondering what I really have here. I don't use them any longer, they are set aside at the moment.

If your patient, we have a member that can tell you more about those hats than anyone else, period !! No keyhole`n and good color, even though I cant hear them, I like them !! I may be the only one but, I use the metal color to know they will sound good. But that`s just for me !! Are they for sale ?

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

Have not thought about selling them. They are very old but not thin. I've thought of cleaning them but don't want to do that if I shouldn't or so it wrong.

Old. Hats valuable. Don't be sweet talked into selling them for a song.

A Zildjian 20" old also...maybe late 50s but a picture of the whole cymbal would help. Not as valuable as K Zildjian hats, but still find out prices before selling.

NEVER CLEAN. It subtracts from the value.

Thanks for the information and the advice. I will post pics of the 20 inch ride later tonight. Where do I find out what all these might be worth?

Somebody with better old Zildjian data/street cred than me should show up in this thread for further id and prices. I'm a bit of a specialist: Paiste 602s and Sound Creations (as in my signature).

The bottom shot of the 20" still looks 50s-ish to me, but it's a bit small for my old eyes. Others should be able to confirm it or shoot me down.

A pundit class (versus Nate Silver) estimate would be > $500 for the hats and maybe $200 +/- $50 for the 20" ride. The price for the ride also depends on weight. Less than 2000g is good, less than 1900 is better...and so on. Heavier, not so good on price.

It's a buyers market out there and until the economy is out of the doldrums it's not a great time to sell unless you really need the cash. :2Cents:

Those hats are IIIc old stamps from '57 -'58. They're worth about $800.

the hats weight about 740g and the 20 inch ride weighs about (just under) 2000g (wife and I weighed on a good human weight scale for pounds and converted to grams (hats weighed 1 5/8 pounds each, and the ride weighed just under 4.5 pounds, maybe 4.4 pounds)
