Is there something wrong with these cymbals?
Cuz if not I might grab them, they look sweet!
Thoughts?

its an auction.
good luck.
They're K Constantinoples, and would have originally been sold as marching cymbals at that very heavy weight. They'll be much heavier than your average old K hats, but would still probably sound good...cutting, lots of metal there. K Cons that were meant as drumset cymbals, or hi hats, were paper thin, and have that very vintage 20's and 30's sound. The more desirable old K hi hat sound is found in K Zildjian Istanbuls from the 50's through the early 70's.
Thanks,
Bill
So, that weight is really heavy then?
These wouldn't be good for alternative and jazz
I would imagine then?

No...
They're better suited for Heavy Metal music.

Lol, well it's probably true.. but I don't know what
a light weight is for hats.
Wasn't there a cymbal weight calculator online somewhere?
I know a good thin ride is like between 1800-2000 grams or something
but as far as hats go, i'm clueless..

This one was shared with me by a fellow forum member who is very much "in the know".
He stressed it is only a guide.
I keep pushing "calculate" and nothing happens..
Am I doing something wrong?
It works for me, according to this calculator the hats in question are med/hvy bottom and med top.
