Just got a nice catalogue from my fathers uncle, who used to be a drummer.

It's a 1952 catalogue, named "Cymbal set-ups of famous drummers".

Is this a known catalogue or are you interested in scans? It's quite nice, it has set-ups of Rich, Bellson, etc etc...

Here's a few quick pics:

Drummers that have a full page with pic and full setup are:

Gene Krupa

Shelly Manne

Louie Bellson

Buddy Rich

Don Lamond

Max Roach

Tiny Kahn

Alvin Stoller

Sonny Igoe

That is totally sweet! I've got the '80's version of that, not quite the same!

Pretty cool catalog to come across, I think i have one from in the later 50's or into the 60's.

Does anyone know when they started calling the 'bounce' cymbal a 'ride' cymbal? I did all orchestral work, 'ride' was even new to me when I was in high school, I always called it a suspended cymbal because that's what we had in the orchestra!
