Hmmm, thats what i thought...
I bit pricy for this kit.
I also dont know what floortom it is.
Are those vintage Ziljdian cymbals worth anything that are included?

My snare sounds okay. It still has the original snare wires, which probably keep it from sounding more than okay. Drop the snares and it is a nice warm, ringy snare, excellent rimshots. I expect a new set of snares will get it past okay and on to good.
Fitting the snare head took some gentle time with the heat gun to get it smooth.
Finally got the snare throw setup functional. A rod, which you loop the snare wires around, that transverses the interior of the throw had gone walkabout. A spare I had, didn't fit the threading. A replacement butt throw had the right rod, but it wouldn't come out. Eventually I took the throw to a clockmaker, he understood the relatively simpleprobs and fixed them while I watched. Very cool.
Through all this the graduated throw arm mechanism has been functional.
Last night I put it all together. I used popsicle sticks as spacers to keep the 14" head centered.
Then I tried a spare set of Pearl 20 strand wires. The snare response crisped up nicely. Warm, woody, good body, like a mellow red wine.
I have a set of john grey spurs...are you looking for the clamp front hoop style or the ones that go thru the bass drum shell ??....mine are the ones that go thru the shells and the chrome plates are stamped john grey and sons
No such luck. I only have the Autocrat snare. Thanks.
Hey if you’re still looking for John Grey parts check out Blenheim Drums, he specializes in Premier but if anyone would be able to find old John Grey stuff it’s Mike.
