Jammin with my Paiste 101 blue label vintage hats

Loading...

So this is me trying to play (part of) Danzig's "twist of cain" with my harp and drums. Been playing the harmonica for 8 days now lol, those old Paiste hats that I've had to tig weld 3 times on top and 1 time on bottom, lol, sound awesome. I kinda loose the beat with my bass drum, still learning.

That was pretty darn cool! My idea of what a Paiste 101 HH should sound like is not at all like that. Can you slap up some pics of it? Too bad they still keep needing repair. Apparently tig welding is not a long term solution.

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Actually I repaired those hats a few years ago, the welds are just fine lol. Those 101 blue label's are a copper nickel zinc alloy, also called German silver, so they sound very different, compared to the standard brass 101 series.

I just got some 14 and 12 inch 101 blue hi-hats and I must admit they sound rather good.

Are people sure they are nickel silver as they look like B8 to me and nothing like the nickel silver ZYN cymbals I have!

Does anyone know about the black label (earlier than blue label) Paiste 101's?
