Currently on eBay...A Complete Jack DeJohnette Sabian set of cymbals with a buy it now of $2000. Are these rare custom cymbals? I've never seen these and they're supposed to be very dry. Just sharing info for the interested.

Dry? These make the sahara desert seem green and lush. An acquired taste.

I'm not sure how rare they are but the are long discontinued as Jack has moved on to the Encore series and then to his new Three Point series (although when I saw him play the other day he still had his old battered China).

First run series. He updated them after a couple of years. They are rare in the same sense as L&L Knob Tensios are rare. In other words, no one wanted to plunk down the dough because they did not do a great job at what they were designed for. There are those Jack devotees that have these rides (and the same sticks and shoes and blender and hair comb). They are out there, but honestly most all I've seen have been cheap cheap cheap. This is a large set, so it's gonna appeal to the one stop shopper. That would account for the hefty tag.

Thanks for the info gentlemen. I was curious about them for knowledge. A 22" ride vid I've seen of one did have a unique sound and some nice wobble. Seems like I'd be a great jazz ride IMO.
